Montreal's greenest Christmas craft show

Over 5,000 visitors visited the 2015 edition of the SAR - a great success!

The city’s greenest Christmas craft show, presented by RECYQ-QUÉBEC and organized by ENvironnement JEUnesse, will be in town from December 2nd to 4th at the Centre for Sustainable Development. Mark your calendar to make sure you don't miss this year's Salon des artisans récupérateurs (SAR)!

The local artists and artisans of the SAR all place the environment at the heart of their creative process. The works of art, practical gifts and fashion products sold at the show are all carefully crafted with recycled, remanufactured, reused or repurposed materials. The SAR proudly showcases an edgy and unique niche in the world of professional craftsmanship where one-of-a-kind products and their ecological footprint are in keeping with the times and where environmental responsibility mingles with the expertise of top-notch artists.

This large annual event brings together over forty local eco-designers. People of all ages will find clothes, jewellery, fashion accessories, practical and decorative objects, furniture and other special, unique finds at the show. A record-breaking 5,000 visitors perused the show’s stands last year at the Centre for Sustainable Development. A “name your favourite artisan” contest and a “become a scrap-artist” workshop are also on the agenda for the weekend, giving you an opportunity to vote for your favourite artist and create your own jewellery from recycled materials.
