Mission
Amnistie Internationale’s mission is to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated.
Its vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments.
Current areas of activity
Amnistie Internationale is a global movement of men and women working together to protect human rights. They work independently of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion.
They promote human rights as defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and defend the indivisibility and universality of civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
Amnistie encourages individuals, groups, businesses and international institutions to support and respect human rights.
The organization also calls for governments to respect, ratify and implement international human rights agreements and works tirelessly on elaborating new conventions and protocols.
Amnistie engages in public awareness and educational work to help people and organizations get acquainted with, understand and defend human rights.
