The World Social Forum at the Centre!

In order to highlight this major international forum taking place in Montreal this year, the Centre for Sustainable Development will be hosting a series of events between August 9 and 14, 2016.

A large networking extravaganza, mainly for World Social Forum (WSF) participants, will take place on August 10 at 11:30 am, in collaboration with Equiterre. This event will also serve as the opening of Thomas Marcel Hurtut’s latest exhibit, titled Coming home? Portraits of evacuees of Naraha. On this occasion, participants will get a chance to chat with members and tenants of the Centre, all top environmental and social NGOs, about hot-button issues and the best solutions for approaching them.

During the WSF, participants will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Centre in both French and English. These express tours are offered on top of the tours already available every Friday thanks to Equiterre’s and Hydro-Québec’s partnership.

The Centre’s partners will be organizing other events during the WSF. On August 11, for instance, Equiterre and its partners will be presenting a talk on fair trade, followed by a fashion show showcasing the work of ethical designers
