Exhibit - Atlantic Canada: An Ocean of Diversity and Natural Beauty by Nick Hawkins

From April 30 to May 16, 2018, the House of Sustainable Development and the David Suzuki Foundation will be hosting Nick Hawkins’s exhibit Atlantic Canada: An Ocean of Diversity and Natural Beauty.

For this photographic series, Nick Hawkins has traveled around the East Coast of Canada to capture the diversity of Atlantic Canada's marine and coastal life. He focused his work on the Bay of Fundy, the Scotian Shelf and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Nick Hawkins seeks stories and images that bring attention to the impacts of human activity on wildlife. By capturing unique and rare photos, the biologist wants to educate Canadians about the importance of oceans and inspire them to care for species and ecosystems.

About the artist

Nick Hawkins is a Canadian conservation photographer and photojournalist from New Brunswick specializing in natural history, science and conservation related issues. He has produced featured articles for Canadian Geographic, BBC Wildlife Magazine and Canadian Wildlife Magazine. Nick is a member of the International League of Conservation Photographers and is the recipient of the 2014 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award.
